Oh dear, it would appear that our little Victoria Beckham has started to get ideas above her station.

While there is absolutely no doubt that her designer clothing collection has attracted the attention of stars far and wide and was embraced by fashionistas both sides of the pond at New York Fashion Week, I don’t think Giorgio Armani is quaking in his boots just yet.

It would appear that Posh is not content with dressing the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Lopez and Demi Moore and has now set her sights on someone with a considerably greater deal of influence.

Yes, fashion followers, it’s true - Victoria wants her next celebrity fan to be none other than Michelle Obama.

"I would love to dress Mrs Obama," she told Fox News. "I just think she’s incredible and she’s a very strong woman and she’s beautiful."

While the first lady can certainly be commended for her style choices from time to time, I’m not too sure she’d look all that comfortable in one of Victoria’s slinky designer dresses.

Can’t you just imagine it now - Victoria and Michelle having a good chinwag in the White House about fashion, while David and Barack thrash out the political issues of the day. Er, perhaps not.

With Giorgio Armani’s hotel set to open in Dubai this March, I know where I’d be booking a room if I had the cash.

Located in the Burj Dubai Tower, the first hotel to be lauched by the designer clothing brand will be located in the fifth to eighth floors. The building is thought to boast the highest swimming pool in the world - at the 76th floor.

The tower is reported to have cost close to £100 million and measure over half a mile high.

Inside the decor is Armani designed and is set to be an exclusive holiday venue - although I’m not sure I have that much of a head for heights!

The brand are planning to open further luxury resorts in Milan, Marrakech and Egypt as well as hotels in some of the world’s major cities such as London, New York, Tokyo and Shanghai.

According to the official website: "The Armani Hotel Dubai will be home to eight unique dining experiences. In addition to culinary excellence, the Armani Hotel Dubai will include Armani/Prive a hip and upscale lounge and the world’s first in-hotel Armani/Spa."

The Armani designer clothing label is said to be worth some £1.5 billion and the health of its owner looks like its deteriorating.

Giorgio Armani is 75-years-old and has recently suffered ill-health after contracting hepatitis.

The Telegraph reported that this lack of a clear succession plan is common among the luxury fashion industry in Italy and that no plans around who might take over at Armani have been released publically.

Luca Biondolillo, senior vice-president of international communications at Luxottica Group, told the publication: "The issue of succession is probably the single most delicate issue facing Italian companies, especially in the luxury and fashion sectors, where companies are tied very closely to the vision and genius of the founder."

He added that there is always a risk when fashion houses change hands that it may not be strong enough to keep going.

Luca went on to say that it was common for Italian men to believe "that they will live forever".

Recently, it was rumoured that Twilight actor Taylor Lautner could be the next face of Giorgio Armani.

The 17-year-old would be following in the footsteps of David Beckham, as he and Victoria have both featured in underwear ads for the brand.

As I’m sure you well know I don’t have kids yet. One day, I’m sure I will settle down to start a family, but at present - I’m just too busy doing what I’m doing to find the time.
