Danni Minogue to launch clothing line?

Danni Minogue to launch clothing line?

Things just seem to be getting better and better for Dannii Minogue this year. After the success of her stints as a judge on X Factor the Australian former pop princess has managed to re-launch a successful career - and now is attempting to get to grips with clothing.

Following the announcement that her and her rugby playing/modeling beau Kris Smith were expecting their first child, it has now been revealed that she will be behind a range of new handbags in partnership with a friend.

According to Grazia, Dannii is working with handbag designer Tabitha Somerset Webb on a new range of dresses and designer bags - and the publication claims we could be seeing the creations as soon as next week!

It also revealed rumours that she may soon become one of the new faces of Marks & Spencer, following in the footsteps of Mylene Klass and Twiggy.

"We can’t wait to see what she’s come up with and based on the fab frock she aired at the National TV Awards this week, we think the fashion prognosis is looking very good," said Grazia.

The 38-year-old is due to give birth in July and she has said she is "very, very excited" about what’s to come in 2010.

Best dressed crown of the weekend goes to …

Best dressed crown of the weekend goes to ...

The Screen Actors Guild Awards took place at the weekend (January 23rd) and designer dresses took to the red carpet in droves. As always at Secret Sales HQ we have spent the morning mulling over the best and worst dressed from the shiny Los Angeles event!

Kate Hudson was favoured by much of the press this weekend when she opted for a figure-hugging floor-length white dress. We doubt many people could have pulled off this unforgiving backless designer dress, but we have to agree that she did look stunning.

Grazia said: "She brought the perfect dose of sexy with a bare back accented by a tassel necklace and some crystal embroidery at the hip broke up the white. More of this please!"

However, we also think the best-dressed crown could have been shared with Diane Kruger, who looked elegant with classic glamour in a mustard-coloured dress by designer Jason Wu.

The Inglorious Basterds starlet accessorised the one-shouldered eveningwear with red lipstick and a gold and red clutch bag.

Drew Barrymore failed to impress us here at Secret Sales in her two-tiered frilly skirt and although her Alexander McQueen printed dress was to die for, we felt that Anna Paquin lacked some red carpet pizzazz.

Who stood out for you at the Screen Actors Guild Awards? Do you agree with our verdict?

Office clothing dilemma solved

Office clothing dilemma solved

What to wear for work can be a tricky dilemma. Sometimes jobs dictate the clothing you have to wear, but other times the expectations are a little blurred and women are left to decide what is appropriate for themselves.

But more importantly, how do we dress to suit the style of our offices but remain stylish and individual at the same time?

Oonagh Brennan, fashion director at Company magazine, believes that women have so much choice when it comes to work clothing that it is possible to opt for a tailored look but still define your personality.

She notes that shops such as Reiss offer entire collections that could be worn to the office, which offer a feminine cut.

"Or you might be a bit more into the sporty boyish look," she said.

"It’s a bit like Stella McCartney’s style, [or] Kate Moss with wearing peg-leg trousers with a white shirt and waistcoats, the cuts are really quite on trend."

Dresses are another work wear option - although big shoulders are going to be seen less and less as we move into a new season, she added.

Research from Mintel published earlier in January revealed that 24 per cent of females would splash out on work clothes if they felt they were good quality. Ten per cent added that they have smartened up their appearance in the office in an attempt to "get ahead".

Sevigny gets the cameras flashing at MOCA

Sevigny gets the cameras flashing at MOCA

Its always a lively morning at Secret Sales HQ after a red carpet event and this morning was no exception! At the weekend (November 14th), A-listers turned out in their droves for the 30th anniversary show at MOCA and an indulgence of ours is to compare opinions on the designer clothing that was on display.

The Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art was the venue for the lavish affair and the likes of Eva Mendes, Christina Ricci, Angelina Jolie, Chris O’Donnell and Brad Pitt had the camera bulbs flashing.

Lady Gaga, who we think looked a little more ghoulish in blue lipstick than glamorous, was the entertainment for the gala evening along with dancers from the Bolshoi ballet, which raised $3.5 million (£2.1 million) for the once struggling venue.

Some 1,000 guests attended the event, but my favourite outfit of the evening was Chloe Sevigny. Dressed in a high-neck, short-sleeved sheer top embellished on the chest with a white and yellow skirt and mustard designer shoes, she embodied understated elegance.

Following a similar trend in a nude-look embroidered dress was Eva Mendes, who teamed the outfit with a small designer clutch bag and strappy stilettos.

What do you think of Chloe’s look? Was hers your favourite dress from the night?

Sophie Ellis-Bextor - a style queen

Sophie Ellis-Bextor - a style queen

Style queen Sophie Ellis-Bextor is a self-confessed hoarder of all things vintage and designer clothes - and we here at Secret Sales HQ love her for it.

The Murder on the Dance Floor singer has given the public a rare glimpse into her fabulous wardrobe and I must say it’s impressive!

Speaking to the Daily Mail, retro Sophie, who is renowned for her gorgeous porcelain skin, bright red lips and stunningly chiselled cheekbones - as well as her eclectic taste in clothes of course - admitted to holding on to items that she has had since her teenage years. She is definitely a girl after my own heart.

Among the fabulous array of thrift store bargains and high-end buys that consists of a whopping four double wardrobes full of dresses, 25 pairs of shoes and 40 coats, are some seriously stylish gems.

Referring to a pair of amazing Prada platforms, the 30-year-old told the publication: "I wore these in my 2007 video Me and My Imagination. They’re gold and silver and have a solid Perspex heel with bronze diamante bits. I wear them to death."

As I’m sure you guys will have noticed yourselves, Sophie has a penchant for vintage prom dresses, which she claims have to be "timeless with a modern twist".

I completely love this girl’s style and she clearly knows how to mix things up - which is of course a must in fashion!

But enough about me, what do you think?
