Heidi Montag to launch clothing line

Heidi Montag to launch clothing line

When I think of Heidi Montag the first thought that springs to mind isn’t that she is what I would describe as a designer clothing guru.

Perhaps better known for her bizarre surgical overhaul, the star doesn’t exactly scream fashionista to us here at Secret Sales HQ.

But it looks as though the reality TV star is set to follow in the footsteps of various celebrities-turned-designers such as Kate Moss, Alexa Chung and Emma Watson by creating a clothing line.

At the recent opening of Pure nightclub in Las Vegas the cosmetically-enhanced blonde told People magazine that she is currently in the process of designing a clothing collection to complement her new curves.

Modelling a self-designed fuchsia number (leaving absolutely nothing to the imagination, naturally), Heidi told People magazine that she has drawn inspiration from classic designers such as Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana.

"I want to capture the true luster of Hollywood in all my designs," she cooed.

"This is just the beginning. Look out for my bikini line this summer!"

Perhaps she’s trying to follow in the footsteps of former co-star and ex-best friend Lauren Conrad, who has managed to build up quite a following in the fashion industry.

But I don’t think we’ll be rushing to the shops to snap up your designs anytime soon, Heidi.

Will you be buying anything from Heidi Montag’s clothing line?

Madonna to front new Dolce and Gabbana campaign

Madonna to front new Dolce and Gabbana campaign

It has been revealed on the fashion grapevine this week that Madonna will be replacing Claudia Schiffer as the new face of Dolce and Gabbana.

According to Swide magazine, the 51-year-old was chosen to showcase the forthcoming spring/summer 2010 collection due to her Italian roots and because she embodies "the strong sensuality of the brand".

The collection sees a return to the iconic era of the corset for Dolce and Gabbana and I’m not sure about you, but we at Secret Sales are divided in our opinion over what we think of this queen of pop’s new role.

As last season’s frontwoman for Louis Vuitton, she’s not a stranger to luxury designer clothes advertising, but this is the first time that she will be modelling for their campaign.

Stefano Gabbana said that "to have Madonna in our campaign is a dream come true" adding that she is "truly beautiful", on his Twitter page after Steven Klein photographed the shoot in New York at the weekend (November 7th).

Madonna was also snapped this weekend after it was rumoured she met up with her 22-year-old boyfriend’s mother in Brazil - who is 14 years her junior. Jesus Luz is denying that marriage is on the cards after the meeting, claiming he is still not old enough to get married.

Splash out on a suit for interview success

We all know how I feel about flashing flesh in the office - ladies, less is always more! And whether you’re a corporate high-flyer or a fresh graduate looking to score your first job, there’s nothing more important than power dressing.

There are plenty of fashionable ways to make a fabulous first impression without looking too OTT or flashing too much flesh - and it seems like every fashion writer from the Daily Mail to the Times of India has ideas about what you should and should not wear!

Personally, I’d recommend that you keep it simple. A designer suit from the likes of Dolce & Gabbana could be just what you need to impress your new boss and new research shows that leading UK managers think an investment of at least £300 is money well-spent when it comes to finding a suit that fits you like a glove.

A poll of British bosses carried out by recruitment site TheLadders.co.uk revealed that 37 per cent of those responsible for hiring new staff turned a willing worker away based on a fashion faux pas.

For the ladies, this means leaving your micro-minis, low-cut tops and dangling earrings at home - save them for a night out instead! If you need a bit of a glam fix, your Jimmy Choos can come along with you to the office, as 69 per cent of managers said that high heels made a good impression. But in my opinion there’s nothing worse than a girl teetering on too-high heels, so make sure your look is composed and elegant, rather than as if you have just fallen out of a nightclub a la Mischa Barton.

What are you wearing for your next interview?
