Boots, designer jeans and leather jackets stole the show on the red carpet yesterday at The African Bazaar event presented by Puma.

Edward Norton, star of The Illusionist and Fight Club, wore a brown leather jacket and designer jeans to the Hollywood event, which took place at the famous 5410 Wiltshire Building in Los Angeles.

Lynn Collins from X-Men wore a floaty designer dress with a small blue belt and black suede ankle boots.

However, our favourite outfit of the evening here at Secret Sales was worn by 90210 starlet Jessica Stroup, who looked stunning in skinny jeans, a black top, cropped black jacket and a designer handbag clutch.

The 24-year-old, who plays Silver in 90210 and starred in The Hills Have Eyes, is no stranger to designer clothing and began modelling when she was just 15.

She was recently spotted at the launch of Jason Wu’s spring/summer 2010 collection for Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills alongside Diane Kruger and Lily Collins. She wore a short cocktail dress designed by Wu.

You may have heard of the 27-year-old designer after Michelle Obama wore one of his dresses to the inaugural ball.

It’s great to see a fellow Brit and girl-next-door flying the British flag for fashion across the pond. And yesterday (November 10th), our much-loved Cat Deeley was doing just that in her designer jeans on the red carpet in Los Angeles.

We at Secret Sales HQ loved her understated chic look as she wowed the crowds at the People’s Choice 2010 nominations reveal.

Cat was among the special guests announcing the nominees and shone in designer jeans, black ankle boots and a sheer pink top.

This event will be the 36th year the awards have taken place and Miss Deeley was joined by sitcom star Sofia Vergara, Survivor presenter Jeff Probst and Kris Allen from American Idol.

Having made it big on household screens in the US presenting So You Think You Can Dance? she will be making a return to the UK next year to bring the show over here.

I can’t wait to see her bring her mix of designer clothes, vintage fashion and high street pieces back to London!

Last week, the 34-year-old from Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham appeared at the launch of the Jimmy Choo collection for H&M party in Hollywood in a little black dress and designer shoes. Other A-listers at the event included Hayden Pannettiere, Paris Hilton and model Angela Lindvall.

The American brand is set to open a new flagship store on Regent Street next month. While this may not be of much interest to you online shopping fiends who love nothing more than to nab designer clothes at bargain prices here at Secret Sales, what Guess is doing to celebrate may be more newsworthy.

According to Marie Claire magazine, the brand is planning to hold a retrospective of all the iconic black and white pictures taken over the years of its top fashion models.

I’m talking about everyone from Anna Nicole Smith and Claudia Schiffer to Eva Herzigova. Each of those blonde bombshells launched their career with Guess thanks to the stunning pictures in which they were captured. You could say that the images set to be on display are snippets of fashion history.

What designer clothes lover would want to miss that?

Who is your favourite Guess model?

The world has been up in arms over recent weeks following the release of that infamous Ralph Lauren picture featuring heavily airbrushed model Filippa Hamilton.

In the image in question, which was intended for one of the designer clothes label’s Japanese advertisements, the 23-year-old beauty’s waist was shrunk down to look narrower than her head.

The public and sections of the fashion industry were outraged - understandably so - and judging by your past comments, so were you.

But that has done little to halt Ralph Lauren in its skinny-obsessed ways. In fact, one could argue that the brand has been spurred on by the controversy created and has further fuelled the issue by slipping another digitally-enhanced picture under our noses.

An image featuring model Valentina Zelyaeva has appeared in a shop in Sydney in which the already thin 27-year-old stunner’s waist has been narrowed beyond belief.

Commentators on PhotoshopDisaster.blogspot.com, where the altered picture has been posted, have voiced their outrage at the image, with one person saying: "[Why don’t they] just show their clothes on skeletons … or are those not skinny enough?"

Call me cynical, but could this be a contrived ploy by Ralph Lauren to raise brand awareness?

The fashion world has not stopped talking about the label and its designer jeans range since the picture of Filippa surfaced last week, so perhaps it’s cashing in on that fact and presenting such drastic digitally-enhanced images purely to spark debate.

I hope that isn’t the case as that would be one seriously irresponsible thing to do. While we lot have the sense to condemn the brand for its obsession with skinniness, there are countless impressionable teenage girls out there who believe such an impossible ideal is how they should look.

Do you think there are sinister motives behind this latest picture?

Following in the footsteps of her famous model sisters Elizabeth and Jade, little Georgia May Jagger has already broken her way into the fashion industry - and she’s just 17.

The blonde bombshell has put her famous pout to good use - inherited from dad Mick of course - by modelling for US denim label Hudson in a series of uber-provocative poses. And one could tell by just looking at her long, lean legs that she has mum Jerry Hall to thank for her fabulous genes.

Dressed for the most part in nothing but the Hudson denim jeans the photoshoot promotes, Georgia is splattered in red, white and blue paint to reinforce the all-American identity of the label - and she cuts one sexy figure.

Commenting on appointing the rising star as the face of the designer jeans, Hudson spokesman David Lipman said: "It’s all about the heritage of having Mick Jagger as a dad and Jerry Hall as a mum.

"But more than anything, it’s her spirit that captivates me."

The massive ad campaign was just unveiled this week and is set to feature on billboards around the world and in only the glossiest of glossy fashion mags.

While Georgia might flourish into the quintessential fashion model over the next few years and have countless men drooling over her pictures, old Rolling Stone Mick may not be too pleased about her career choice.

Speaking about daughter Elizabeth’s half-naked state during a past catwalk appearance, the 65-year-old was quoted as saying that no father likes to see his daughter baring her breasts in public.
