Office party misdemeanors

Office party misdemeanors

You’ve got your designer dress sorted. You have picked out which shoes you are going to wear and have the belt, clutch and winter jacket all lined up. You’ve been planning your perfect look for weeks and you’re finally ready to strut your stuff at the office Christmas party.

But be warned Secret Sales fans, inappropriate behaviour and "festive mishaps" have been described as career damaging for 50 per cent of office party revelers.

Research was carried out by a dating website Singles365, which revealed that being sick with management watching was the worst offence.

Now why waste all of that preparation on looking great to end up cringing at your behaviour the following day?

Other social faux pas that occur at office parties included having too much to drink, getting emotional, revealing feelings that are best kept to oneself and making a photocopy of a body part!

Advice on how to survive the work Christmas do with your reputation intact has been offered by The Friday Flyer.

It suggests making an effort with your clothing, mingling with a wider crowd than you would normally do at work and always wear a smile.

Did you manage to get through your office party unscathed?

Zoe Saldana does it again at LA Avatar premiere

Zoe Saldana does it again at LA Avatar premiere

After receiving so much praise for her designer dress choice at the London premiere of the Avatar film, the pressure must have really been on for actress Zoe Saldana.

She wowed the crowds at the Leicester Square event in a full-length silver Roland Mouret designer dress with necklace and shoulder details - while her co-stars Sigourney Weaver and Michelle Rodriguez opted for a more discreet look in black.

However, Zoe - who plays the female lead Neytiri in James Cameron’s latest epic - managed to pull it off again at the premiere in Los Angeles last night (December 16th) looking bang on trend in a white and metallic studded designer dress.

She teamed the dress with a pair of gold stiletto shoes.

This time around though, Michelle, who plays a pilot in the 3-D movie, opted for an attention-grabbing, full-length, fuchsia satin designer dress with ruche detail around the bottom.

According to website MillionLooks, however, blacks and browns are extremely on trend this autumn and winter season as they appeared in all of the designer clothing collections on the catwalks. It suggests that this may be due to labels reflecting the mood of the recession in their clothes.

Which of Zoe’s premiere dresses do you prefer?

Hot pink does not stink

Hot pink does not stink

Here at Secret Sales HQ we like to get into the festive spirit and don some colourful designer clothing during the winter season.

Recently, Step Up actress Jenna Dewan - who also took part in last year’s Dancing With the Stars - attended a red carpet event in a hot pink strapless designer dress. We thought she looked stunning - but not in the eyes of one organisation.

This Christmas, a Pinkstinks campaign is hoping to encourage women and girls to boycott the colour as its feminine associations are supposedly sexist and will prevent women from being ambitious.

Labour MP Bridget Prentice is backing the movement stating that pink women’s clothing is "funnelling girls into pretty, pretty jobs".

Founder of the campaign, Emma Moore stated that dressing girls in this colour is "passive and pretty".

Many men now happily dress up in pink and we at Secret Sales are confident, successful women that do not feel the colour of clothing we choose to wear dampens our professional drive.

Sarah Jessica Parker recently opted for a tiny hot pink L’Wren Scott designer dress for the premiere of her new film Did You Hear About the Morgans? - and she looked lovely!

Do you think pink makes girls passive and should be banned?

Tinseltown taken over by sequins

Tinseltown taken over by sequins

Proving just how big a hit sparkles, glitter and sequins are set to be in fashion this winter, Tinseltown’s finest came out in all their shimmering glory this week. The events in question may have been different but the common thread throughout was just how festive each stylista looked.

Eva Mendes has always been a firm favourite of ours here at Secret Sales HQ and her stunning look at the Los Angeles premiere of The Bad Lieutenant simply cemented that fact.

She donned a show-stopping multi-coloured sequin gown by Chris Benz, which nipped and tucked each and every one of her sexy Latina curves perfectly - and the plunging neckline was pretty raunchy too.

The Ghost Rider actress paired the jazzy number with some demure black satin platform pumps and a simple black clutch, outshining absolutely everyone else at the bash.

Academy Award-winning actress Charlize Theron was at another movie premiere across town for The Road, which saw her channel some 1920s elegance.

She too went for the dazzling look in a shimmering silver Christian Dior flapper-style minidress with gorgeous embroidery around the neckline and a vampish makeup palette to die for.

And finally rounding off this oh-so sparkly marathon was Troy actress Diane Kruger, who opted for a midnight blue Chanel gown with a full peplum skirt when she attended a charity event in New York City.

Fashion-forward as always, she accessorised this glitzy number to perfection with a black croc clutch bag and some demure strappy black sandals, along with a gorgeous statement silver necklace with diamonds and a sapphire!

But all in all, sultry Eva was my favourite and my inspiration for every sequined designer dress I buy this season!

What do you think of her look?

Mariah Carey’s greatest style choice to date?

Mariah Carey's greatest style choice to date?

Divalicious songstress Mariah Carey has been known to sport the odd ill-fitted designer clothing ensemble that leaves far too little to the imagination. Whether it’s a dress with a cringe-worthy plunging neckline or a two-sizes-too-small miniskirt with way too much leg on show, she has committed more than her fair share of fashion faux pas in the past.

But, I was absolutely gobsmacked when I saw pictures of the Butterfly singer hitting the red carpet of the American Film Institute premiere screening of her new movie Precious in Los Angeles over the weekend.

She looked like a true Hollywood superstar in this stunning designer dress - every inch of which nipped and tucked her curvy body beautifully and accentuated that to-die-for hourglass figure.

I’m not sure who the halter-neck mermaid-esque gown is by but I will keep you posted when I find out because I think this has got to be one of the singer’s hottest looks to date during her two decades in the public eye.

She looked like Jessica Rabbit with her long caramel coloured and curled tresses draped over the figure-hugging ensemble - a look I think she fuelled by ensuring that her sexy derriere looked pronounced from every angle!

Do you think Mariah has looked better?
