Claudia Schiffer “could imagine doing handbags”

Claudia Schiffer could imagine doing handbags

Claudia Schiffer has always been one of my style icons. Her love of designer clothing, key accessories and casual elegance has always been something that I have tried to emulate. So the announcement that she is going to launch her own fashion collection has got the Secret Sales office buzzing with excitement.

She won’t be the first supermodel to turn designer - Kate Moss and Elle Macpherson have both already trodden the path - but with classic-looking pieces on the agenda I can’t wait to see what she will come up with.

"I have no definite first product in mind, but I would love to do cashmere. It’s something I wear all the time myself," she said at a luxury fashion conference in Berlin.

"Or I could imagine doing handbags," she added, explaining that she was also interested in doing something more "price-friendly".

The German-born icon, who was first discovered at age 17, has not yet signed any contracts for her line and is in the process of turning her dream into a reality.

Claudia was spotted earlier this year on a photo shoot in Argentina, creating the spring 2010 ad campaign for Chanel.

What do you admire most about Claudia Schiffer’s style?
