Daisy Lowe recently revealed to the world that she would be returning to good old Blighty to live after life in New York got lonely, but that has not narrowed her prospects in the worldwide fashion industry - no siree!

According to her agent, the sultry It girl turned model and daughter of fashion legend Pearl has just been snapped up by none other than Louis Vuitton for the label’s forthcoming ad campaign.

She is reportedly jetting off to Miami Beach this week for the photoshoot that will see her promoting its new ready-to-wear beach range consisting of designer bags, shoes and accessories.

Her agent told Grazia magazine: "Daisy attended the Louis Vuitton show in Paris and wears their clothes, so she’s thrilled about being booked for this job. It’s a fantastic brand for her to be working for and she’s pleased to be flying the British flag for such a worldwide label."

I say congratulations to Daisy for booking such a prestigious job and I think she’s a great individual to be representing us Brits on the global stage.

Unlike many of today’s models, she has a bit of flesh on her bones and has a look that is edgy, grungy and yet accessible at the same time.

I look forward to seeing the ad campaign when it’s launched in the new year - even though I’m not a huge Louis Vuitton fan.

Do you think Daisy is a good choice for Louis Vuitton?

The GQ Men of the Year Awards took place in London this week and all the stars came out in their finest to take part. Naturally there were a number of hits and misses, with some dedicated followers of fashion out-styling the other, but all in all, celebville’s A-listers did us proud.

Kate Moss donned a very skimpy pale blue patterned bodycon minidress, which she styled with some killer stilettos and oversized gold costume earrings, while her new BFF Lily Allen took to the red carpet in a sheer black Chanel halter-neck dress and super-long hair extensions.

But they certainly did not steal the show for me. Slumdog Millionaire star and budding fashionista Freida Pinto donned a divine tiered and panelled designer dress by Christopher Kane, consisting of bang-on-trend sheer black fabric over a grey underlining.

As one of only few high-profile Americans in attendance, stunning Eva Mendes stood out on the red carpet, wearing a glamorous custom-made plum silk and metallic chiffon Calvin Klein gown that trailed along the floor. The 35-year-old would have looked right at home had she been attending the Oscars in this dress and seriously outshone most other fashionistas present as a result.

Among the misses for me were Bond girl Gemma Arterton who failed to impress in a cropped yet bland Yves Saint Laurent trouser suit and Welsh songstress Katherine Jenkins, who proved she lacks imagination when it comes to attending such events by dressing in yet another Victoria Beckham Giral dress.

Who do you think looked the business at the event?

Hollywood actress Claire Danes always seemed a tad too apple pie for my liking. Starring as the angelic heroine in Baz Lurhmann’s 1990s movie adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, and in the more recent fantasy movie Stardust in which she played a fallen star, she never struck me as the type of girl who would be able to let loose with fashion and unleash her inner style vixen. But I was wrong. Claire Danes really is too sweet to be wholesome and new fashion shots in this month’s Black Book magazine prove just that.

The pictures taken of the blonde beauty reveal her in every high-fashion trend set to rock the world of style over the next few months. She is pictured in everything from Calvin Klein and Gucci to American Apparel and Herve Leger - and she looks amazing for it.

In one snap the actress is perched on top of a glass ceiling in New York wearing a shoulder-padded blazer and tighter-than-tight acid-wash designer jeans with rips in the knees, along with a gorgeous pair of killer strappy heels. While in another, she dons merely a pair of nude fishnets, a Lady Gaga-inspired leotard and a glitzy sci-fi-style jacket with some uber-high ankle boots.

Proving that the 1980s really are a force to be reckoned with in fashion at the moment, Claire is pictured in an asymmetrical hot-pink minidress with sheer black tights and the clunkiest necklace you have seen this side of the 21st century!

So, surely if someone as sweet and inoffensive as Claire can look edgy and vampish in these hot trends, we fashionistas will have every chance of rocking the socks off them.

Which autumn trend are you looking forward to sinking your teeth into?

With less than a week to go until summer feels like it is officially over, I think it’s high time we say goodbye to our skimpy skirts and dresses, and start dusting off our favourite designer jeans for some cosy autumn fashion.

While denim never goes out of style, different cuts and shapes move up and down the fashion trend meter faster than any of us can afford it to, but I believe I have come across a pair of jeans that every woman in the world has been dreaming about since first noticing that her bum isn’t as divine as Beyonce’s … the Calvin Klein Body Jean.

According to my spies at Marie Claire, these jeans have been "ergonomically designed" to contour your legs, hips and touche into your dream shape. Apparently, the cut and seams on the denim make it possible for it to squeeze and lift our fabulous curves in all the right places. This means that we self-conscious fashionistas with flat derrieres can for the first time feel bootylicious, while those of us with a tad too much junk in the trunk will have something to flatter and slim us down.

The new jeans, which are set to be unveiled to the public next week, come in a must-have skinny cut and a variety of classic blue washes. I don’t know about you, but I’m already mentally putting together a designer clothes outfit with these jeans as the focal point.
