UGGly feet
January 1st, 2009
Tis’ the season to put away your vertiginous heals and pop on some comfy footwear to pound the streets in the hope of shifting that excess Christmas weight.
New Year’s Eve is upon us and I have my fabulous dress and shoes for a – hopefully - equally fabulous party, but tomorrow is January and reality will strike with a vengeance.
I for one will be in search of comfort and nothing says cosiness quite like my Uggs.
January is also a time for resolutions and I have already promised myself no more high heels to work.
I will be carrying them in my bag of course, but my trusty Uggs will be there to help me walk quickly.
Walking fast is good for two reasons; firstly because I am often late for work and seven inch Laboutins just aren’t practical when you’re in any kind of a hurry, and secondly because faster walking equals more calories burned, or so I tell myself.
If like me you have spent the last week eating chocolate, mince pies and turkey sandwiches like your life depended on it, you will be feeling slightly guilty and in need of some fresh air and exercise.
I’m certainly not suggesting you go jogging in your Uggs, but they do provide the ideal footwear if you need to walk short distances and keep your feet warm.
With the brand’s European flagship store opening in London’s Covent Garden in November following hot on the heels of its Westfield outlet, it’s never been easier to get your hands on a pair.
I do sometimes wonder though if the Ugg has had its day. What do you think?

Proud to say I don’t own a pair of Ugglies. Though had a very similar style in the 80’s and now have Bearpaw, more like moccasins. How people want to wear exactly the same as other people is beyond me. See Uggs,JC velour track suit and an LV bag.
Ugg sounds for ugly. They are ugly shoes.
I think uggs look ridiculous, personally I preferre my trainers, they are better for your feet and alot more comfy. Right enough I do pride myself on being one of the first to buy the yeti boots in 2002 from o’niell, I took alot of stick for them until a few years later they were in fashion.
although i wouldnt wear them to walk fast in, mine are for strolling.
ive been lucky enough to get the fake uggs and not have them bend out of shape like so many other girls seemed to have. i often wonder when i see these girls wobbling along if they surely walk slightly oddly to make their boots do that.
so i love uggs whatever the weather, whatever the outfit, jean skirt, baggy jeans, combats, skinny’s, dress, shorts…lovely.
I LOVE UGGS!
Cardi-Uggs Are Nicer Tho…
I Dont Think I Could Ever Bring Myself To Throw Them Away!

I’ve always thought they were the uglyest thing on earth!!!! I’m for confort and I love my trainers! but something with a bit of shape please!!!! One other thing I don’t understand is how would anyone want to spend this kind of money on them???!!…
I can’t stand them! in my opinion the feet and whole legs look absolutely hideous in a pair of those!!!
