Dresscode imposed in Tesco store
January 30th, 2010
Would you wear your pyjamas outside of the house? I don’t know about you but I always like to make an effort with my clothing and make sure that I look presentable. Of course I like to put on comfy clothes when I am watching television in the evening or if I’m heading out for a run - but I’m definitely a designer shoe and not a trainers girl.
This is why it surprised me to read that one Tesco supermarket has had to impose a formal dress code to stop people from doing their weekly food shop without any shoes on or from going in with their pyjamas on! Who does that?
"To avoid causing embarrassment to others we ask that our customers are appropriately dressed when visiting our store (footwear must be worn at all times and no nightwear is permitted)," said the official sign outside the store.
According to news reports this move was caused by women popping into the supermarket in their sleepwear after dropping their children off at school in the morning.
I wouldn’t put the bins out in my pyjamas! I would be worried to get in my car not properly dressed in case something happened and I had to get out!
Have you ever gone out in public with your bedtime clothing on?

Never! Nor have i understood those that do. They’re called pj’s for a reason- they stay inside the house and not out, so definately not to the supermarket!! I completely agree with Tesco…
