Marion Cotillard - the chicest French fancy

She is about to grace our movie screens with her elegant style and chic sophistication - and on the arm of none other than Johnny Depp (swoon), so I thought it prudent to talk about what it is that makes Marion Cotillard so darn fabulous.

Anyone who was born in Paris, the greatest city in the world, is getting off to a good start if you ask me. The daughter of a mime artist and actress, and the sibling of a sculptor, a painter and a writer, she has the artistic credentials to make Mona Lisa jealous.

But apart from her evident Oscar-winning acting talents and her to-die-for floaty French accent, one of the major things to set Marion apart from her fellow actresses - European or otherwise - is her amazing fashion sense.

The 33-year-old appeared at the London premiere of Public Enemies looking positively breathtaking. She donned a below-the-knee length strapless red satin Vivienne Westwood dress that ruffled at the front, with a plunging V-shaped neckline and matched her straight and sleek dark bob with a black Stella McCartney clutch bag and killer crocodile-embossed Dior heels.

This French fancy has got to be a major player in the fashion stakes having been recently recruited as the face of the Lady Dior handbag. In fact, this week she appeared in the first of a four-part ad series clutching the must-have bag of the year in a pair of vertiginous heels and a black minidress on top of the Eiffel Tower. Now, if that is not high fashion I do not know what is.
