Ditch the neon brights this spring
February 5th, 2010
I personally have not been a fan of the bright clothing that has been hitting the catwalks of late - that’s why I’m thrilled to announce that it’s back to basics for this spring’s trends.
"Pretty pastels and the palest nudes are a huge trend on the catwalks this spring - and one of the most flattering looks to try, whatever your age," reports our fellow fashionista Eliza Scarborough over at the Daily Mail.
The fantastic thing is that whatever your skin tone, I can almost guarantee you’ll be able to pull this look off - Eliza suggests that you tanned beach goddesses out there should opt for creamy colours, while the pale and interesting among us could try dusty pinks or oatmeals.
Investing in staple items, such as a designer dress or trench coat, is the key to this trend.
Perhaps you could team these neutral necessities with a chunky knit jumper in the daytime or some gorgeous court shoes for a night out - we here at Secret Sales HQ absolutely adore the Marc Jacobs footwear that has been seen on the catwalks this spring.
This season’s clothing trend of wearing nude underwear as outerwear has proven so popular that department store Selfridge’s has reported a 20 per cent rise in sales of nude nipple covers.
