Ditch the neon brights this spring

Ditch the neon brights this spring

I personally have not been a fan of the bright clothing that has been hitting the catwalks of late - that’s why I’m thrilled to announce that it’s back to basics for this spring’s trends.

"Pretty pastels and the palest nudes are a huge trend on the catwalks this spring - and one of the most flattering looks to try, whatever your age," reports our fellow fashionista Eliza Scarborough over at the Daily Mail.

The fantastic thing is that whatever your skin tone, I can almost guarantee you’ll be able to pull this look off - Eliza suggests that you tanned beach goddesses out there should opt for creamy colours, while the pale and interesting among us could try dusty pinks or oatmeals.

Investing in staple items, such as a designer dress or trench coat, is the key to this trend.

Perhaps you could team these neutral necessities with a chunky knit jumper in the daytime or some gorgeous court shoes for a night out - we here at Secret Sales HQ absolutely adore the Marc Jacobs footwear that has been seen on the catwalks this spring.

This season’s clothing trend of wearing nude underwear as outerwear has proven so popular that department store Selfridge’s has reported a 20 per cent rise in sales of nude nipple covers.

Are you ready to ditch your bright clothes this season?

Naomi Campbell to stage charity show at New York Fashion Week

Naomi Campbell to stage charity show at New York Fashion Week

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has revealed what a kind-hearted soul she is by planning to host a showcase of designer clothing at a charity fashion show at New York Fashion Week.

The event is set to raise money for victims of the January 12th earthquake in Haiti.

Celebrities will model various designer clothing creations at the event - to be held on February 12th - which will then be auctioned off to raise proceeds for the cause.

But Naomi will not be stopping there - she is also planning a similar event to take place at London Fashion Week later in the month.

What’s even better is that unlike the majority of fashion shows, the events will be open to the general public, allowing you guys to get a sneaky peek of the hottest trends in designer shoes, clothes and bags.

Fantastic!

And it seems that top clothing designers are only too pleased to help raise money for Haitii.

"Of all the American designers, nobody has said no," said Naomi.

"They’re taking the time out of their schedules to be able to pick what they want to give and contribute. We are very, very grateful."

But this is not the first time that Naomi has shown her sensitive side by organising an event to raise money for an extremely worthwhile cause - back in 2007 she hosted a charity fashion show to raise money for victims of the UK floods.

Will you be getting tickets to Naomi’s charity catwalk show?

Alexa Chung - the new face of Pepe Jeans

Alexa Chung - the new face of Pepe Jeans

It seems that there is nothing that the stylish Alexa Chung cannot achieve - not only has she bagged herself a hot, rocker boyfriend and presented countless TV shows both in the UK and across the pond, but she has now been named as the new face of Pepe Jeans.

The former model is returning to her fashion roots and following in the footsteps of top celebrities who have previously fronted the brand, including Kate Moss, Sienna Miller and even the hunky Cristiano Ronaldo.

In frankly stunning shots by photographer Tom Munroe, Alexa is seen fashioning a variety of gorgeous denim ensembles, including straight leg jeans and a ragged-collared jacket.

We here at Secret Sales HQ are not in the least bit surprised that the fashionista was chosen to represent the designer jeans brand – in 2009 she earned the accolade of the Most Stylish Woman in the World by Vogue magazine, pipping the likes of Cheryl Cole, Emma Watson and Kate Moss to the post.

Alexa’s style is so enviable that even a Mulberry bag was created in her honour.

But not only is she looking gorgeous in front of the camera in this new campaign, she is also getting involved behind the scenes for hot American brand J Crew - the brand’s offshoot Madewell has employed the fashion-conscious star as it’s latest consultant designer.

Is there anything this woman cannot do?
