Red is sexy, blue is calming …

Red is sexy, blue is calming ...

Everyone has that one designer dress or favourite jumper that you know will guarantee a compliment at some point during the day. And a lot of the time that will come down to what the colour does for your complexion.

Here at Secret Sales HQ we all have our favourite colours that we know suit us, but could it all be a little more complex than just what we can see on the surface?

Many celebrities are fans of colour consultancy and one such expert, Jules Standish, has given us some tips on how to use different tones in our designer clothing to change our mood over the festive season.

She suggests wearing blue to help relax when feeling stressed and pointed out it is also a good option if you’re attending a job interview.

When feeling a little under the weather, green will boost the immune system, she adds.

However, what we are most interested in, is what to wear to get us noticed at the infamous office Christmas party. Ms Standish notes that red is the way to go if you want to get the adrenaline flowing and increase your energy levels as its "sexy and romantic".

Perhaps this was the motivation behind this outfit choice by singer/songwriter, actress and older sister of Hilary - Haylie Duff at the Dizzy Feet Foundation fundraiser?

Have you ever had a colour consultation?

Designer clothing beats sex

Designer clothing beats sex

It has been confirmed … Women prefer designer clothing to men.

It’s a common theory that men only have one thing on their minds most of the time, but it seems that so do women - Although, its just not the same thing!

My Celebrity Fashion carried out a survey that revealed females aged between 18 and 30 think about designer clothing and going shopping more often than they do about sex.

It worked out that on average, most women think about shopping 210 times per week - with each time lasting for two minutes.

This equated to seven hours a week on average, compared to just 35 minutes contemplating sex!

Here at the Secret Sales office, I imagine that the time we spend thinking about designer clothing goes way over that of the typical Brit. One piece of designer clothing news that has got us talking this week is the Sonia Rykiel collection that is being debuted in Paris for H&M next week!

However, we all still like a little eye candy now and then.

The marketing director at the company that carried out the survey Andy Barr commented: "I think this new research proves that most women would rather have a new pair of shoes than a good time."

Now I think this is a little unfair. Who says we can’t have fun while wearing our new shoes? What do you think?
