Was your look in the noughties inspired by a celebrity? Whose designer clothing choices influenced your look?

Francesca Moser, senior fashion assistant at SHE magazine, believes that the rich and famous have had a huge impact on the clothing world over the last decade and that even TV programmes have had their input.

"The modern generation is strongly influenced by celebrities such as sports stars, actresses and pop stars, so we can’t deny the fashion power of these new icons such as Lady Gaga, Cheryl Cole, Victoria and David Beckham to name a few!" she said.

She added that the designer clothing world had also been made more accessible in recent years thanks to high street collaborations from the likes of Jimmy Choo, Madonna and Kate Moss.

I loved the recent Sonia Rykiel underwear range from H&M. I’m hoping to find lots of her pieces in my stocking this Christmas.

Grazia named Lady Gaga as fashion icon of 2009 in an article this week (December 21st). The magazine said that this year had belonged to her wigs, pantlessness and crazy behaviour!
