Firetrap The Brand
In 1991, Firetrap debuted as a UK denim brand, born in the fashion capital of London. With a British based design team, the influences

and attitude of urban city life became synonymous with the Firetrap clothing brand. Just as London’s nightlife draws people in the masses, Firetrap’s playfully wild reputation does the same.
Starting of as a contemporary denim brand, Firetrap became renowned amongst highstreet retailers. But soon style savvy consumers were seeking more from Firetrap’s clothing. Firetrap continued to break the fashion mould by announcing clothing collections and more recently a footwear collection too. Unlike many other brands, Firetrap’s collections have never been afraid to push the envelope, and it is their collaborations that have constantly kept the brand moving at a fast pace, and in the press.
In the past, Firetrap has hosted events such as Bestival and Stag and Dagger. For 2009, Firetrap UK joined forces with i-D magazine – creating a huge buzz in the fashion world. Special editorial editions of the magazine featuring Firetrap were published, as well as iconic styled window displays in all of the stand alone Firetrap stores. Remaining fashion forward, Firetrap also recently teamed up with cult couture designer Ziad Ghanem for London Fashion Week. A denim collection titled ‘The Immortalist’ is set to debut next year. The Immortalist collection will feature Firetrap’s original denims, twisted by Ziad with a stroke of street eclectic design.
The most publicised of all of Firetrap’s endeavours would have to be the Firetrap mascot; Deadly the gnome. Now the brand’s icon, Deadly was first presented to the world in 2004 as part of a marketing campaign, symbolising the British attitude of Firetrap’s brand in a whole new twisted light. Masked like a horror film killer, Deadly gnomes have become collector’s items. However, his dangerous demeanour is to be taken in jest; the whole concept is just as playful and mischievous as Firetrap wants their wearers to be.
