Georgina Goodman the Brand

Georgina Goodman started her fashion career as a stylist and journalist, working for top style titles such as i-D and Elle. Despite this giving her an excellent insight into the world of fashion, Goodman still felt she had an urge to create in a more organic way. She was inspired to take up a degree at the prestigious footwear academy Cordwainer’s College, following this with an MA in Womenswear/Footwear at London’s Royal College of Art in 2001.

By the end of 2002, Goodman launched her debut couture collection with the opening of her first store in the centre of Mayfair. Her minimalist, sculptural designs took the fashion world by stor m and Goodman was soon lauded by the fashion media worldwide. Indeed, shoe maestro Manolo Blahnik hailed Georgina Goodman as ‘The future of footwear’.

2003 saw the launch of Goodman’s ready-to-wear line, which incorporates her original style, yet with a seasonal approach. Indeed, Goodman’s stylish designs have been so successful that her empire has grown to include, both couture and ready-to-wear women’s footwear collections, bags and accessories- including pet and baby accessories, homewear and a bespoke footwear collection for men.

From that first decision to take a career change, Georgina Goodman has always stuck by her own philosophy of following her heart and doing what she loves. Indeed, each and every shoe she designs has the words ‘Made in Love’ printed on the soles; a reminder of the passion involved in creating the design. This trueness to herself has enabled her to create her own contemporary style which has inspired even the most established fashion designers. It is this individuality in her designs that has lead to her winning the British Fashion Council’s Accessory Designer of the Year Award twice.

Classic Styles

Although contemporary in their style, Georgina Goodman shoes have a sculptural feel about their shape which connects directly with Goodman’s philosophy ‘Made in Love’. Indeed, every sole is printed with the words ‘Made in Love’ giving a unique feeling to each pair of shoes. Clean lines, block colours and abstract shapes are signature styles of Georgina Goodman shoes, creating a directional, avant-garde feel to each design.

Georgina Goodman’s designs are almost graphic with their clean lines and especially her signature graduated ‘link’ heel. Goodman plays with a mixture of fabric and textures to create a progressive look. Elastic is combined with soft leather, patent with matt, satin with Perspex, making up a collection which is not only fashion forward but truly unique to Georgina Goodman’s style.
