Cowshed a History:
Cowshed bath and homeware products were originally formulated in 1998, for use in the original Cowshed spa, as well as guest rooms located in Babington House, Somerset.
The following decade or so has witnessed Cowshed dramatically evolve and expand. The success of the product range has enabled Cowshed products to be made available in all of the Soho House Group venues and also have their own retail stores located in Soho and Chiswick.
Today, Cowshed boasts its Collections range; a series of bathtime treats infused with essential oils to suit a variety of moods. The Spa range was launched in November 2008, selling premium organic spa and hair products for home use and a Mother and Baby range, which was unveiled in March 2009.
From the beginning, Cowshed has not tested on animals and to this day remains steadfast in their stance towards animal testing.
Ethics and values are important in the manufacturing of the products as Cowshed enforces a strict ‘no nasties’ policy ensuring products are free from Parabens (preservatives) Petrochemicals (Petroleum by-products) Sulphates (foaming agents) and artificial fragrances or colours. Cowshed were also one of the first brands to specialise in the use of plants with reg ards to the extraction of their oils, proteins, essential fatty acids and vitamins. The only animal by-products used are organic beeswax and wild flower honey.
The indulgent bath time treats and home products are blended using the highest grade organic, fair trade and unprocessed essential oils from around the globe to enhance mind, body and spirit. The unique perfumed aroma of a Cowshed product is sourced from herbs grown organically within the Victorian walled garden at Babington House.
