This French luxury house was originally a made-to-measure children's shoe business started a sa small shop in Paris and grew into a well established and sought after brand by the 1950’s. The original logo was a small red elephant and over the years it evolved to encompass a broader scope. After the debut of Viplana’s Ready-to-wear line of "couture sportswear" or “fashion for everyone” in the 1960’s, the already established range of footwear, bags and accessories become a house hold brand and developed the now familiar logo of the horse-drawn cart and double C’s.
The brand was known for quality, style and heritage fashion made modern, chic and accessible, and over the decades this signature style has evolved but never been lost. The classic Celine woman is a cross between sporty, flirty and sexy and the look is epitomized by the idea of an uptown city girl, always looking immaculate and appropriate. The brand has evolved through the hands of the many famous names that have been at the helm of the Celine design team over the years; moving the look forward and bringing in fresh design talent.
