Girdle power
December 2nd, 2008
I often wonder what it would be like not to have the transformative power of make-up to hide a multitude of sins, or not to able to wear lycra for its silhouette-enhancing effects, or, heaven forbid, not to be able to add a few vital inches with some heels.
In short, what it would be like to be a man. Whenever I have those thoughts I thank my lucky stars and carry on my merry way.
So I was quite surprised to see an article on body slimming tops for men while flicking through Sunday Times Style this weekend.
I, along with thousands of other women - you know who you are - have long been an advocate of spanx pants and their miracle bottom slimming effects.
Every time I wore them I felt smug in the knowledge that I was looking hot and no-one need ever know my dirty, body slimming underwear secret.
No-one until now that is. I feel strangely cheated that men have now been given the opportunity to shape up in a clingy lycra top and our secret’s out.
Men will now know that looking trim is not the result of a month long session on the Power Plate, but simply due to a very stretchy piece of lycra.
Lycra girdles for men - good or wrong?
